Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Luisa Sabine Heß (Experience in third-party funding acquisition in the field of telemedicine at RWTH Aachen, project management in the research project "Smart Innovation in Mechanical and Plant Engineering," as well as the design of an interdisciplinary seminar program. From 2010 to 2011, led a European consulting project for qualification needs analysis at a research institute. Currently a professor of management and human resources at Cologne Business School, with teaching responsibilities at FernUniversität Hagen and Hochschule Köln).

How to deal with research, teaching and writing the doctoral thesis.

Working on the doctoral thesis is usually the biggest project, candidates were confronted with so far. Usually this process takes a few years and no one is asking for continuous progress. The situation of research assistance working in the university is a big challenge. It´s not only about mastering the doctoral project it´s also about coping with the challenges in teaching and those which come along with research projects. It´s difficult to organize and coordinate the every-day-work efficiently. This workshop focuses on the reflection of the own role and on the ability to organize and motivate oneself over the long distance of the doctoral process. The workshop aims to set priorities and to make an efficient use of the time available.
